Meet us at Mobile World Congress 2018

It is soon time for Mobile World Congress, the biggest mobile trade show in the world, and we are going to be there!

Each year we attend MWC to show the world what we have been working on hard during the past year, and this year is no exception. In fact, this year we have even more exciting things to announce! For that, visit us during the event, follow us on our social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Diaspora* in order to receive the latest and greatest from Jolla and Sailfish OS!

Find us in Hall 5

Our booth will be situated in Hall 5, booth 5A41 where we will be showing off devices running Sailfish OS, where you can meet the sailors behind every project, and where we will hold our stand presentation.

See you at MWC 2018!

Visit this link in case you want to meet with us at the venue.

do you get that you wouldn’t have to put up with these comments if Jolla had simply delivered in the first place…….or at least made good on subsequent promises since?

    • Avatar

You could also consider donating to Jolla. Than the case is closed too.

Why would we (backers) “donate” to jolla? They haven’t been able to keep a promise, they used our money to fund OS development and are now doing an extra-slow with a lottery. Why would we forgive their debt?

Dave isn’t the only one who wants their refund!
@Jolla, please give us our refund or keep us posted on what you are planning to do regarding it! Thanks in advance.

      Well spotted!
This may explain why Jolla has been delaying releasing open source components. Probably trying to keep leverage in commercial negotiations. Holefully acquisition doesn’t result in Russian backdoors in SailfishOS. Only way to be sure is if the source is available…

It could give a boost to Sailfish. But it would be wise if Jolla made clear that Sailfish stays independent. That Sailfish is not the same as SailfishRus.
I wonder why the Russians were not be able to invent an attractive OS themselves. It’s mostly Google, Microsoft and Apple there, amazing. And because of all the spying we can understand that the Russians administration was searching for an alternative. And so they discovered Sailfish.

          1) Most of russian genius-programmers already working for Amazon, Microsoft, Google and other big USA companies. Other working for smaller companies all around the world outsourced. Why? – money, opportunities, technologies, insurance, and so on.

          2) Russian government system is working different: if gov granted 10mln rub for developing OS – only 10-15% will be spent on that, all other money will be stolen. As a result they’ll hire few students to create something like MIUI at early stages (best case).

          3) There is no bases for developing OS in Russia, as they loosed tech competition with other countries (China, USA, EU). So best move is to buy ready product and important – buy people (devs).

Or it is now forbidden for them to open source as new owners would like to create own backdoors. But they wont tell you directly as after that they’ll lose almost all users except government workers from Russia.
